Back in May, McDonald's announced an online competition to crowdsource new burgers for its U.K. restaurants. And the five winning burgers are: the Big Uno (a cheeseburger with bacon, red onion, mayo and ketchup), the Sweet Chili Fiesta (chili sauce, bacon, pepper cheese), the Ultimate Supreme (Swiss cheese on a roll), the McPizza Pepperoni (pepperoni and cheese) and the Big Spicy Bacon (bacon and pepper cheese). The winning burgers will each be sold for one week, starting today and ending Nov. 18, and backed by a TV and digital campaign.
In a nice touch, the work by Leo Burnett London focuses on the people who didn't win. The first ad, kicking off this week, features a guy who came up with basically the same burger as one of the winners, except he put in pineapple and pickle. Another spot will show a couple who forgot to submit their entry.
