Microsoft debuted a new logo and brand identity for the first time in 25 years, just as the software giant readies to introduce new versions of all of its products, including Windows, Windows Phone, Xbox and Office. According to the Microsoft blog post the new wave of products represents a new era for Microsoft, and thus the logo change.

The logotype uses the Segoe font, the same font used in Microsoft products and marketing communications. The squares of color represent the company's portfolio of products.
