Over 100 heavyweight boxers appear in this Formula One-themed spot for Mobil

Jones + Tino direct ad featuring F1 driver Max Verstappen facing them down

A posse of 124 heavyweight boxers appear with their muscles gleaming in an epic new spot for Mobil1 motor oil, promoting the brand's involvement with Formula One.

The ad by AMV BBDO promotes Mobil1's partnership with the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing F1 team, and shows driver Max Verstappen facing down the boxers to demonstrate the kinds of forces that F1 drivers feel on the track. The effects were filmed in camera with 124 heavyweight boxers, punching in unison, choreographed to the soundtrack of Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana (also known as the theme from Martin Scorses's "Raging Bull").

It ends with an apology from Mobil 1 for delivering engine performance that will make Verstappen's job even tougher: "Sorry, Max."

Jones & Tino directed the spot via Stink Films. It's running online and in U.K. cinemas.
