Employees at Mother New York have used their creative ingenuity -- and their heads, literally -- to do their part for small business. The agency recently set out to revitalize a local barbershop frequented by many of its team with a set of thoroughly fresh and modern hairdo shots -- modeled by Mother staffers themselves, including Founder Paul Malmstrom, who appears in the first picture above.
John's Barber Shop in the Port Authority subway station is right around the corner from the agency, and "we'd often remark that the photography in his window could use an update, and since we have this incredible pool of creative talent at Mother with an eye -- and hair -- for style, we found ourselves in a unique position to lend a hand to one of our favorite shops," said Mother New York Director of Business Development Chris Roan (wearing the straight bangs and pink shirt with the palm trees above). "We think these images celebrate the spirit of the city and our agency, and they gave John's a fresh new look."
The agency doesn't intend for its mission to end with John. It hopes to revitalize other mom and pop stores too -- not just barbershops but nail salons and dry cleaners as well.
