Back in October, Mother London invited women to come and have their public hair photographed at the agency for "Project Bush", an effort to stir up debate around the culture of waxing and its impact on feminism. Ninety-three women took part (anonymously), with photographer Alisa Connan taking the pictures, and today they go on display at the agency's Shoreditch HQ. The exhibition runs until 18th November and a taster can be seen here.
The project was inspired by Mother's work for Elle Magazine on Rebranding Feminism, although it was not done on behalf of the client. However, next week Mother London will host a debate about modern feminism for Elle. The panel includes U.K. Equalities Minister Jo Swinson; Laura Jordan Bambach, President of D&AD; Ikarama Larasi, of Rewind & Reframe (which is urging the music industry to be less sexist) and feminist bloggers Holly Armstrong & Rhiannon Wlliams of Vagenda.
