MySpace: New Logo

MySpace leaves something out of its new logo.

On Friday at the Warm Gun design conference in San Francisco, MySpace unveiled its new logo, which conspicuously replaces the "space" in the company's name with a "blank" symbol, and loses the three figures on its left as well as the "places for friends" tag. It also uses what appears to be a Helvetica-inspired typeface.

According to MySpace VP User Experience Mike Macadaan, "the new logo acts as a vessel, an empty stage" for users to show off who they are and what they're into. "It can't be all about a big company that's trying to express a bunch of [its] own philosophies."
