National Lottery: Life-Changing

A dream postponed.

Published on Jun 12, 2012

Editor's Pick

Running was all this woman, the heroine of this touching spot from AMV BBDO for the National Lottery, dreamed of. But the opportunities afforded to athletes today, thanks to funding from the Lottery, weren't around back then, so this woman -- now a mother -- has to realize her dream many years later.

Shot on location in the North of England, the moving film is shot by Academy's Martin de Thurah, and was inspired by Jenny Meadows, a 800m British Olympian whose own mother, Barbara, was never able to reach professional status because of the lack of funding.
