Home Gallery Interactive (image) National Park Foundation We Are Still Marching Relive MLK's 'I Have a Dream' with Immersive Site from National Park Foundation Organic Commemorates Anniversary of March on Washington with 'We Are Still Marching' Published on Aug 27, 2013 Editor's Pick The National Park Foundation has launched an impressive website to celebrate the March on Washington, led by Martin Luther King, Jr. 50 years ago today, August 28th. Created out of Organic, "We Are Still Marching" leverages Google Chrome to capture images, news and radio footage from that historic day in 1963. Upon entering, users will hear a recording of "I Have a Dream," in the voice of Dr. King. They're also invited to record their own renderings of the famous speech. Celebrities like hip-hop poet and artist J Ivy, as well as notable figures like President Barack Obama's sister, Dr. Maya Soetoro-Ng and congressman John Lewis also have contributed their voices to the site to create an audio mosaic that symbolically unites all around Dr. King's beliefs and tenets. Unit 9 was the production company behind the campaign. The site features immersive photography, including 200 never-before-published images from 1963, archival and new interviews, as well as original videos from photographers and news sources that covered the original event. The idea is to give people who can't physically be in Washington to experience the anniversary for themselves. The NPF also plans to host a live event in Washington, D.C. to let people experience the project and record their own voices, live. There have been other projects in the past that have sought to recreate watershed historical moments in a layered, multimedia fashion. The Martin Agency has won accolades for "We Choose the Moon," which recreated NASA and Neil Armstrong's moon mission over four days, in real time. It also created "Clouds Over Cuba," which revisited 1962's Cuban Missile Crisis. Both projects were for the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library. Rate this Ad You must be registered to rate the ad.
