Well, there's solar power, then there's solar power. McDonald's "Sundial" billboard manages to heat up only to Silver level at Cannes, while this Nedbank idea from Network BBDO in Johannesburg takes the Outdoor Grand Prix. Of course, the McD's board simply told Chicagoans what to eat on an hourly basis; this South African board features solar panels that, according to the agency, power the kitchens of a township school, feeding 1,100 kids. Big volts rate higher than Big Macs. As for the transcendently amazing, though anything but sunny, Amnesty International Switzerland poster campaign from little Zurich agency Walker, it took Gold.
