With a follow-up to its “Plunge and Play” aquatically-inclined advergame from last summer, Nestea and agency Lowe Roche Toronto are leaving the sea for the suburban streets with “Heat Fighter Turbo,” which plays off Nintendo’s legendary Street Fighter II game. A more visually stimulating affair than the original “Plunge,” “Heat Fighter” lets contestants do battle with three foes in the form of heat’s three different manifestations: the sun, hot coals and mercury.

Site visitors can click on the new “Heat Fighter” tab on the talking vending machine, and be directed to the game, where you can then select gender, as well as hair, skin and clothing color along with combat techniques. Your first fight then begins in a neighborhood backyard against the sun, where you can use the “A,” “S” and “D” buttons to attack and arrow keys to maneuver. Fight off his shards of solar heat and you advance to the next level. More challenging than it looks, the arcade-style effort also features voiceover work from Futurama alum, dramatic music/sound design and animation similar to that of a Robert Smigel/SNL cartoon.
