Now That $1.5 Billion Powerball's Over, These Guys Seem Really, Really Sad

Dedicated Drummers Drum Up Excitement, to No Avail

Editor's Pick

McCann New York has pulled some pretty splendid moves promoting the New York Lottery, so when this past week's Powerball jackpot hit a $1.5 billion high, it didn't hesitate to celebrate the event.

The agency installed drummers outside delis and other lottery ticket vendors around the state, who all braved the cold as they played their instruments non-stop for twelve hours in an attempt to get passersby excited to take their chances on the big one. And when the winning numbers were finally announced, they were there to celebrate that too.

Unfortunately, it turns out the big winners came from California, Tennessee and Florida. So in retrospect, those dilligent drummers look really, really sad.
