Soccer Star Lee Young-Pyo Plays Multiple Characters in Ad by W&K Tokyo

Editor's Pick

A legendary Korean soccer player tells young sportsmen and women they're not good enough -- but no-one cares, in this inspiring new ad from Nike Korea.

Created by Wieden & Kennedy Tokyo and directed by AG Rojas of Park Pictures, the spot is led by the voice of Lee Young-Pyo, a retired Korean player who played for clubs including Tottenham Hotspur. He plays multiple characters throughout the film, popping up as referees, a crossing guard, an ice resurfacer and even a weather forecaster, telling young athletes experiencing tough moments in sport that they're just wasting their time. However, they carry on regardless to succeed in their various sports.

Along with the film, Nike has launched a social campaign, "Be Heard," in partnership with free mobile messaging app KakaoTalk . The campaign encourages young athletes to speak out, by recording their voices and telling their own "#JustDoIt" stories. The recordings will be shared daily online and there will also be basketball and football events hosted by Nike Korea where people can record their voices.
