Nissan has licensed out its "self healing paint" technology for use in your pocket. The company created an iPhone case, using the brand's self-healing paint finish which is already used on some Nissan and Infinity models.
The paint, which was developed in collaboration with the University of Tokyo and Advanced Softmaterials Inc., allows scratches to mend themselves. The structure of the material used means that it can react to scratches to bring itself back to its original shape, essentially "filling" in the tiny scratch. The company has partnered with NTT DoCoMo to use the paint on a line of phones.
