The Microsoft-acquired telecomm and IT corporation's US twitter page quickly initiate some smack talk here following the announcement of the new Android OS's branded name. But the image it used bears a remarkable resemblance to a 2012 print/display ad JWT Mexico had done for the chocolatey treat. The work won gold at the 2012 Cannes Lions Festival for its clever (yet literal) employment of the brand's tagline. Here, it appears Nokia simply substituted the non-descript smarphone the agency had originally used with a Samsung.
Does the apparent rehash give the tweet bigger punch or does it simply show a lack of originality? Either way, just give us a break. And play nice.
