A campaign from Australia, from Portuguese fast food chain Oporto, plays on the brand's heritage in a humorous way with posters using Portuguese copy that people can translate via their smartphones.
Independent creative collective The Glue Society developed the campaign as a one-off project in collaboration with media agency, Bohemia to promote Oporto's $10 meal deal.
The campaign encourages the audience to translate the Portuguese captions via Shazam scanning and the Google Translate app; in English they have suggestive translations like "more spicy than your conception." Using the app allows viewers to see the headline change in front of their eyes.
Viewers can also get coded text links which take them to an interactive campaign hub where they create their own "spicy" headlines. They can type in their suggestive headline in English and see it generated in Portuguese, before sharing on social networks.
