Yesterday, Mondelez' Oreo invited some lucky taste testers in New York to sample what top L.A. chefs like Kogi's Roy Choi, Ink's Michael Voltaggio and Starry Kitchen's Nguyen Tran could do with a simple Oreo cookie. The event introduced a series of new foodie-themed films centered on "Oreo Hacks," created out of 360i and directed by Claire Cottrell of Decon. In each film, the chefs desribe their respective experiences around eating the Oreo and then go on to transform the sandwich treats into something totally new. Chef Choi uses the cookies as a crust for a new style of chicken tender, Chef Tran mixes them with a cornucopia of other deli-style snacks to create a "bread pudding"-style dessert that looks like something you'd make if you were five, while Chef Voltaggio turns the cookie into dessert tortilla chips, accompanied by a shandy created with Lemon Oreo creme.
The films point viewers to Oreo's Tumblr, where they can get the recipes for the Chef's hacks, and more.
