Is Christmas Canceled This Year? These Boys Fear Yes (PayPal Says No)

Internet Shopping to the Rescue! Sorry, Brick-and-Mortar Stores

Editor's Pick

In this ad for PayPal U.K., two young boys, Peter and his little brother Toby, worry mightily about the possibility that they won't be getting Christmas presents this year because their parents seem to be utterly failing to shop.

The house they live in certainly seems nice enough, and there are no obvious signs of hardship. But over time their suspicions of a gift-free holiday only increase until, in a touching gesture, Peter lets Toby choose a toy from his side of their shared room as a stand-in present.

Then, of course, Christmas morning arrives and, miracle of miracles, it turns out mum and dad have done plenty of shopping after all. Using PayPal, of course. (For the sake of holiday good cheer, let's suspend disbelief and presume that Peter and Toby somehow know nothing about the internet or package delivery!)

The ad was created out of CP&B L.A. and is the agency's first broadcast work for the client since being named its global AOR.
