Pereira O'Dell: Naknek

Half ad agency, half commercial salmon fishing boat.

Pereira O'Dell is setting sail to launch a floating satellite office that will be half agency, half fishing boat, off the coast of Naknek, Alaska, which, according to the agency is salmon capital of the world. Ketchikan residents might beg to differ. but that really isn't the point.

With this venture, the agency is trying to raise awareness and funds for the the Greater New Orleans Foundation Gulf Coast Cleanup and help the local fishing families impacted by the recent disaster.

For three weeks starting on June 19, POD creatives Russell Dodson and Ross Cavin will be manning the satellite, a 32-foot Drift Gillnet boat. Their multitasking skills will be of utmost importance as they blog about their experience, produce great creative ideas and try to catch 100,000 pounds of salmon.

A portion of the crew's salaries, all sales of Naknek-related merchandise and some of the profits from salmon caught will go directly to the GNOF Oil Spill Fund. Fans can support the Naknek cause on the Facebook page.
