Pinterest has launched its first ever TV ads in the U.K., with a campaign of contextual ads developed in collaboration with broadcaster Channel 4.
The first ad for the social sharing platform broke last night during a new cooking show, "Eating Well with Hemsley + Hemsley." It takes a simple phrase from the show, "one pot meals," and demonstrates how users of Pinterest could type that in to the website to find inspiration and ideas.
Pinterest's ads will continue to air around a range of targeted Channel 4 programming over the next seven months, with reality show "Made in Chelsea" one of the next to be included in the campaign. The campaign was created by Stinkdigital and the media deal brokered by MediaCom.
Elie Donahue, Global Head of Marketing at Pinterest, said in a statement: "The programming on Channel 4 captures the spirit and interests of the British audience and is a great match for the ideas people in the U.K. can find on Pinterest. We're excited to be working with Channel 4 over the coming months for a range of programming including influencers on shows who are using Pinterest to discover their own ideas."
