Pizza Hut built an enormous, real-life "Pizza Thrower" at Comic-Con last week in a joint promotion with Paramount for the latter's new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. The concept was created out of MRY and the Thrower was developed by L.A.-based creative technology company Syyn Labs (the minds behind other mind-boggling contraptions like the Rube Goldberg from OK Go's "This Too Shall Pass" music video and the Chevy Sonic bungee jump). The 12-foot-tall shooter, based on the Turtles' iconic weapon (and popular toy of the '80s), let attendees fire (fake) Pizza Hut Cheesy Bites pizzas at enemies of Michaelangelo and Co., such as "Shredder." The contraption boasts a 180-degree rotating tower with a turret-mounted seat to trigger the pizzas.

The movie, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," opens on August 8th.
