Forget bailouts, could this be the savior of the American auto industry? When Homer Simpson was asked to design his dream car, in series 2 of The Simpsons, he came up with 'The Homer': a customized set of wheels with features like gigantic cupholders, restraints and muzzles for quarreling kids and three horns blaring La Cucuracha. Priced at $82,000, it never came to market in the show, but now racing team Porcubimmer has made it a reality. According to TIME's Techland, a race car version of "The Homer" will be competing at the 24 Hours of LeMons race on June 29 in Buttonwillow, California. We hope Detroit is watching closely.
