'Inbetweeners' Star Simon Bird Shows Off His Roller Disco Skills in Post Office Ad

Campaign Capitalizes on Comedy Star's Geeky Persona

Editor's Pick

Simon Bird, who plays the geeky hero in hit British comedy "The Inbetweeners," stars in this U.K. spot for the Post Office. The ad sees Bird indulge in a fantasy rollerblade dance to Madonna's "Holiday," as he picks up his travel insurance from a Post Office branch and thinks about his vacation. But, in keeping with his most famous character, he's much cooler in the fantasy sequence than in real life (a funny behind-the-scenes video reveals Bird's roller disco past). "The Inbetweeners" started out as a Channel 4 series and has since spawned two successful feature films.

The ad was directed by Stink's Agustin Alberdi and is the first major campaign from DLKW Lowe, which was appointed last year following a competitive pitch.
