While Christmas store windows and holiday displays all over the U.S. have gotten increasingly spectacular this year, the shopfronts along Zurich's main shopping thoroughfare Bahnhofstrasse will feature a more understated, yet more meaningful display this season: mannequins that reflect the body shapes of the disabled.
Jung von Matt Limmat created the effort for Pro Infirmis, an organization dedicated to helping those living with disabilities. The agency tapped director Alain Gsponer of Pumpkin Films to shoot this behind-the-scenes film. It shows how a mannequin creator went about shaping the unique forms of the dolls, taking the measurements of models Jasmin Rechsteiner, who was Miss Handicap 2010, athlete Urs Kolly, radio host Alex Oberholzer, actor Erwin Aljukic and blogger Nadja Schmid.
The mannequins will be on display beginning today in stores such as PKZ, Schild, Modissa, WE Fashion, and Bernies.
Previously for the client, the agency and Mr. Gsponer created this moving film about a disabled man who receives affection and hugs from the public -- thanks to a cuddly costume.
