Qatar Airways is enticing far-flung Twitter friends to tweet about its destinations by offering them the chance to physically meet up. Its Tweet a Meet global social media campaign asks to consumers pick a Twitter follower to team up with, tweet about whichever of its 117 destinations they want to go to (using the hashtag #tweetameet) and potentially win tickets to that destination. Players receive one 'Tweet-mile' for every tweet sent (which must contain relevant facts about the destination). The first three teams with the most tweets at the end of the race will be given a pair of business class tickets to their chosen destination, while five pairs of runners-up get economy class tickets. The competition, created by Qatar's Singapore-based agency Batey, (part of the Grey network) opens on Sunday 15 July and runs until Tuesday 24 July.
