Hair by smartphone.

Editor's Pick

Gone are the days when hairstylists and their customers had to flick through old magazines and pictures of celebrities to find the look they aspired to. Now, over a third of stylists have smartphones, according to a survey by haircare brand Redken, which has created an app for professional stylists that they can use to access haircare formulas, create lookbooks and consult with their clients. Created by Firstborn, StyleStation, which is available via iTunes and the Android store, also gives them mobile access to Breakroom, a social network for stylists where they can share ideas and looks. And, it has a handy alarm tool for several clients at once, so that hair doesn't fry.
