We all know the potential risks of striking deals on Craigslist. The founders of Replyboard, an online service to help you screen people behind potential transactions, have gone undercover in a series of hilarious videos to show you how sketchy dealmaking on the site can get. They replied to various ads posted on Craigslist Seattle and brought a hidden camera along to document the meeting, during which they made themselves at home, and then some. The videos are laugh-out-loud hilarious, and, apparently not a hoax. According to the Replyboard Presents site, each person featured was offered and given $50 to sign a waiver.
Says Replyboard co-founder Steinar Skipsnes, Craigslist "lacks transparency. You have no idea who you're dealing with. That needs to change and that's why we created Replyboard.com."
