German Supermarket Has The Last (Messy) Word on World Cup Final

Among all the self-congratulatory online ads posted by German brands following the World Cup final win by their country, one of the simplest -- and funniest-- we've seen is this one by supermarket chain Rewe. A piece of prime steak wearing a tiny Argentine gets smothered in Germanic-looking potato salad on YouTube-- and topped off by a Frankfurter. Only 11 seconds long, it's had over 600,000 YouTube views so far. It's a bit reminscent of this earlier dig on Brazil, featuring beer, but a lot sloppier.

It's not the first World Cup related stunt by the retailer -- earlier in the tournament, Rewe tweeted a picture of fruit and vegetables forming the German and USA flags prior to the match between the two countries.
