Steve Jobs and His Clones Are all Over This Rolling Stone Campaign

Ad From Argentina Celebrates Apple Founder's Questioning Spirit

Rolling Stone pays tribute to Steve Jobs, but also anyone else who has his questioning spirit, in this witty ad from Argentina. It features a whole bunch of ordinary people looking a lot like the late Apple founder. "The Steves," as the ad calls them, wear black polo necks and jeans and pose inquiries you might imagine Jobs asking too (well, some of them).

Created by The Community's Buenos Aires office, it kicks off by paying tribute to Jobs, stating that he asked "Could it be simpler?" and then changed the world with the iPod. It then turns to some other, less famous, folk asking perhaps less world-changing questions: some are funny ("How could we have landed on the moon and yet can't make a toupee that doesn't look like a toupee?) whereas some are more serious. The spot ends with all of them marching together in their Jobs-like uniform, pointing out, "You never know which question will change the world."

"Everyone knows that that Rolling Stone is a great magazine about music culture, but what really sets it apart is its interviews, because they always ask what nobody else dares to ask," said The Community ECD Ramiro Raposo. "Steve Jobs wondered, could it be simpler? And that simple question changed everything."

The campaign "celebrates 'The Steves,' all the people out there who dare to push the lmiits by not accepting things the way they are," added The Community ECD Fernando Sosa."'Question everything' is the brand concept but is also an invitation to keep asking the smart questions, the simple questions, the silly questions. Because you never know which will be the one that will change the world next."
