Fans of Olympic basketball can check out the U.S. team's journey to Rio in a new virtual reality film series created by Samsung Electronics America.

"Chasing the Dream," created in partnership with USA Basketball, profiles members of the men's national team, including Klay Thompson and Paul George. Narrated by Kevin Durant, the 360-degree documentary series follows their preparation for the Games, providing the players' perspective in the final tense weeks.

The trailer and the first episode from the project will launch later today on Samsung VR, the brand's premium virtual reality content service, with additional episodes launching on the service soon. Users can access the Samsung VR app through Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus, via the mobile app or online at Samsungvr.com.

The series is the second part of Samsung's "Beyond the Frame" program, a virtual reality collaboration with TV network Viceland. The first was a documentary about VR creators themselves.

Samsung is the official smartphone sponsor of the U.S. Olympic Team.
