On July 1, the San Francisco Zoo took it to the streets in a big way, with three monthlong bus shelter "exhibits" in high-traffic S.F. locations, as part of its ongoing "Join Zoomanity" campaign. With ad space donated by Viacom and pro bono creative from BBDO West, the zoo is offering a pair of elaborate displays in special cases that are adapted to fit over conventional bus shelter ad spaces, featuring roughly 30 real (but deceased) varieties of insects. A third display houses an oversized replica of a child's ant farm, with larger-than-life rubber ants. At the July 1 unveiling, AD Heward Jue told the San Francisco Chronicle he feared the worst for these public collector's items
