Putting on a comedy show a day after the horrifying massacre at a Connecticut elementary school that left 20 kids dead is not easy to do. Saturday Night Live opened its show this past weekend with this subtle, beautiful and heartbreaking tribute that features the New York City Children's Chorus singing "Silent Night." It didn't explicitly come out and say that this was a tribute to kids of Newtown during the show, but labeled it so on its website, as Simon Dumenco writes over at AdAge, striking exactly the right note.
