Those of you in Los Angeles may have already sampled some of the fine Korean tacos at the various Kogi trucks that roam the streets of the Southland, announcing their locations via Twitter. Scion decided to get in on some of the roving food action by creating the Kogi xD Mobile Kitchen, equipped with all the gear necessary to get your cook on, including a grilll, sink, refrigerator and cutting board. The car appeared at the L.A. Auto Show last month and will hit more shows before it takes to the streets of L.A. and Orange County.

According to Kogi Creative Director Alice Shin, "Scion and Kogi have always had a fun, cute relationship since day one. My little brother—a manager of the trucks —drives the original Scion XB and I guess a picture of his car popped up on our Flickr page. Steve Hatanaka [Scion Auto Shows and Special Events Manager] was a Kogi fan and I guess was really enamored with the fact that my brother was driving around the XB. They've been flirting with our trucks ever since, and vice versa."

Prior to last year's SEEMA show last year, where the Kogi Scion debuted, Kogi "asked if we had any ideas," Shin says. Santa Ana-based customizer Mike Vu of MVDesignz was then brought in and "together we created a car that could most immediately feed the people on the streets. No lines, no expectations, no fixed menu."

For now, don't expect to see the Scion schedule added to Kogi's Twitter feed, as commercial plans haven't been determined. But Shin says "We are leaning towards having it become our stealth street car—the kind of car where Chef Roy can pull up to a random street corner and feed some hungry-looking people, be it moms, hungover hipsters, an everyday guy on his lunch break, etc."
