Scott Thrift: The Present

Color your year.

Editor's Pick

M ss ng p eces artist Scott Thrift wants to stop the clock with "The Present," which tells time in seasons, not minutes. The Kickstarter project uses gradients of color to tell time, marking Equinoxes and Solstices throughout the year, an attempt to slow time down so you don't miss precious moments. A custom microprocessor turns hours into months, with the annual hand taking a year to make a full rotation. Currently, the project has just over $8,000 in funding. It needs $24,000 by Nov. 10. If you pledge, you can get goodies like a desktop wallpaper, a 'something', or The Present itself.
