Heroic! Comic Book Store and Coffee Shop's Brilliant Cup Sleeves

Published on Mar 24, 2014

Editor's Pick

Canadian comics and collectibles retailer the Silver Snail was worried that a recent move to a new location would negatively impact its business, so it tapped Toronto agency Squab and Pigeon for cool ways to keep it top of mind after the transfer. Among the ideas it came up with were these totally heroic coffee sleeves, which served to crosspromote the shop, along with in-house espresso bar The Black Canary. The small budget project, which turned 200 simple finger protectors into masks of famous comic book heroes like Wolverine, Spider Man and Captain America, ended up garnering a whole lot of attention from industry media and celebs, including Kim Cattrall and writers for Wolverine and Spiderman.

The success of the cups has inspired a soon-to-debut expanded promotion, which will include posters, wild postings and print.
