Soccer Fans Association of Chile: San Marcelino's Miracles Case Study

Will the Chilean football coach achieve sainthood?

Editor's Pick

The Soccer Fans Association of Chile is looking to canonize the Chilean football team coach Marcelo Bielsa in this integrated World Cup effort. Achieving sainthood, as many of you may already know, requires the anointed to perform three different miracles. According to the SFAC, Bielsa has already achieved his first by qualifying his team to the World Cup. The second miracle would be for the team to reach the second round and the third would be for the team to win the overall title.

To help steer the coach and team in the right direction, Grey Chile launched, an online sanctuary where visitors can light a candle in support of "San Marcelino." 70 thousand candles were lit in only ten days, from over 75 countries. If Bielsa performs the ultimate miracle, Grey and The Soccer Fans Association of Chile will apply to the Vatican to request his sainthood.
