Sony: Soundville

First there was color. Now comes sound

According to Fallon's Juan Cabral, in March 2009, a small town in Iceland "was turned into an extraordinary sound-system for a week."

The agency filled the village of Seydisfjordur, Iceland with speakers and sounds by Richard Fearless ( Death in Vegas ), Mum, Bob Dylan, Toumani Diabate, Roberto Goyeneche, Murcof, Federico Cabral, Guillemots, and others.

Rated 1.50 Noise pollution meets actual pollution. Doubt the people of seydisfjordur will be buying any Sony products anytime soon.

Rated 3.00 ~YAWN~ What is he trying to do here? Nice photography, nice editing, nice music snippets - are they all Sony speakers? If not, why not just have live musicians there, what is the point? Put the gorilla playing the drums out there in the snow - that'd work better for me. Have the people of this tiny village of Iceland have to deal with a homeless drumming gorilla that decided to vacation in their town. Experience that sound.

Rated 1.00 this is an interesting independent film. i'm tired of logos being slapped on loosely related art projects. they must have some badass account people to sell this stuff in.

Rated 0.50 If I lived in this town, I'd be seriously annoyed, even pissed. This really grated on me. Who are these people to inflict this kind of noise pollution on a sleepy Icelandic town? And then pretend as if they've made their life better by showing them playing in the snow.Pretentious, obnoxious and self-satisfied.

Rated 3.00 I agree with everyone who says it'd be lame to have a speaker blasting unwanted sounds at you all the time, but the visuals are pretty neat, and conceptually I think it's kind of cool.

Rated 1.00 This is soooo boring! You could tell the same in 60 seconds. Juan should remain agency-creative. Because he doesn't know how to shoot well. It doesn't look good and no good storytelling.
