Pentagram Designs 'Thou Shalt Not Poop' Signs For New York Cathedral

Divine Signs From Pentagram Were Placed For the 'Blessing of the Animals'

Editor's Pick

Earlier this October was NYC Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine's annual Blessing of Pets and Animals -- but as people took their cuddly pets over to the church, they encountered a new set of signs that asked them to keep the grounds clean and free of animal fecal matter -- in the divinest way possible. Designed by Pentagram, a new set of outdoor signs told people "Thou Shalt Not Poop" and "Hold Close Thy Love" in a specially designed custom font that's a version of Frederic Goudy's 1928 "Blackletter." The signs will stay on the Cathedral grounds, which is an area of Manhattan known to be dog-friendly.
