A Talking Sandwich Breaks Up With Its Owner in This Subway Spot

U.K. Spot by McCann London Urges You to Dump Boring 'Blandwiches'

Editor's Pick

In Subway's latest spot from the U.K., a self-sacrificing cheese sandwich starts talking to the guy who's about to eat it, and apologizes for being so bland.

As he points out that people at a nearby Subway are munching on the chain's turkey breast and ham and rotisserie-style chicken sandwiches, the "blandwich" sobs that he deserves something more "special" and says he knows he is better off without him. It's a tearful breakup scene that then jumps to the guy ordering a more exciting sandwich at Subway.

The spot, directed by Max Sherman at Blink, runs till late September and promotes the limited edition rotisserie-style chicken sub.
