See Sports Illustrated's First Ad Featuring Plus-Sized Model

When the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue hits newsstands on February 9, it will feature something never before seen within its pages -- an ad featuring a plus-sized model. Ashley Graham, who has appeared in ads for Levis, Lane Bryant, Bloomingdales and more, will be wearing a string bikini for curvy women online retailer Swimsuitsforall, part of the #CurvesinBikinis ad campaign created out of Kraftworks.

The campaign dovetails wtith the media's current fascination with curvier celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Kate Upton, the latter who happened to appear on multiple covers of the mag's swimwear issue.

UPDATE: Turns out that along with the ad, the magazine itself will be featuring the first plus-sized model within its editorial pages. As reported in Time, model Robin Lawley will join this year's lineup. "As a U.S. size 12, she's the curviest model to ever appear in the edition, and she's doing it while wearing a bikini from her own swimwear line," Time wrote.
