Toys Set Off on an Perilous Mission in Mini-Epic From TalkTalk

Derek Jacobi Narrates Spot Promoting Brand's Broadband Offer

UK broadband suppliers seem to have decided that toys, not people, are the way forward in the battle for market share this Fall. Last week Sky launched a campaign featuring characters from Toy Story trying to achieve better broadband. Now, rival TalkTalk has launched this spot featuring an animated group of toys, a garden gnome and a pair of fluffy rabbit slippers, who set off on a perilous mission to find better TV.

Created out of CHI & Partners and directed by Nexus' Smith & Foulkes, the ad sees them negotiate jungles, mountains and a sea voyage across a garden pond to find the sanctuary of a house that has better TV and broadband.

It's all very epic; the commercial was shot in cinemascope and is voiced by actor (and perhaps more importantly here, voice of children's TV hit "In The Night Garden") Derek Jacobi. Meanwhile the score features the theme from the movie "Last of the Mohicans." It also continues the brand's tradition of using clever animation, in spots such as Homes Within Homes and Model Britain.
