Target and BBDO/N.Y. are organizing the stunt, in which the magician/performer is strapped to a spinning three-ringed gyroscope 40 feet above Times Square in New York City, to benefit The Salvation Army and 100 needy children and families. If Blaine can bust loose in time for Target's 2-Day Thanksgiving Sale starting on November 24—websurfers can check a countdown clock, download a widget and watch webcam footage of the escape-in-progress at an Atmosphere BBDO-designed site—the kids get a holiday shopping spree at Target.
