Argentina's Tarjeta Naranja Wants 'More People Like This'

In an emotive holiday film from Argentinean credit card brand Tarjeta Naranja, a devoted father makes a 2,600-mile journey to bring his daughter a reminder of her old home. That may not sound so incredible, but when you consider that it's a snowman, and they now live in the desert, you'll understand just how much of a challenge that could be.

The six-minute film opens with the parents being told by a counselor that their daughter is having trouble adjusting to the family's move from Tierra del Fuego, in Patagonia, to Salta, in the desert. It would help, she says, if she had some familiar objects or "touchpoints" to remind her.

Her father than travels to the South, makes a snowman and heaves it into the back of the car for an epic roadtrip. It involves fans, bags of ice, ice baths in motel hot tubs and finally a heroic journey in the back of a refrigerated truck after his car finally breaks down. Along the way, he makes all these things happen with his handy Tarjeta Naranja credit card. Of course, there's a heartwarming reunion when the little girl sees what her dad has brought her for Christmas. The spot ends with the words: "We are like this. We want more people like this."

The film is by BBDO Argentina, and was directed Nicolas Perez Veiga from Primo. We're told it was shot in just eight days -- which, given the terrain and different climates involved, sounds pretty impressive if a real snowman was indeed involved.

And Scrooges, we know you, like we, were wondering, Why didn't Pops just put the snowcone machine on overdrive and make Frosty at home? But get in the holiday spirit, won't you?
