Editor's Pick

This week, TED debuted its new customizable education platform, TED-Ed. Here, teachers (or just anyone who wants to learn) can check out a variety of lessons in animated videos featuring voiceovers by real teachers around the world. The videos are accompanied by quick quizzes, hints and deeper dives into the various subjects.

The site, currently in beta, organizes the videos under a variety of categories, and the homepage of each video can be tailored, or "flipped," as the explainer video says, to fit a teacher's esson plan. Custom URLs can also be attached to each video, allowing instructors to track the progress of students assigned to watch them. The platform is open, so along with pre-made videos from TED, instructors are also able to incorporate videos from YouTube into their lessons.
