The Atavist: Launch Video

A new digital outlet for long form

Published on Feb 01, 2011

Editor's Pick

The people behind The Atavist, a new app dedicated to long form nonfiction, have created this launch/explainer video.

The Atavist is a self-described boutique publishing house launched by journalist and Wired contributing editor Evan Ratliff, New Yorker senior editor Nick Thompson, and creative director/digital designer Jefferson Rabb. It offers a new outlet and digital format for long form non fiction narrative and allows readers to access complementary content, like sound, images and additional character information.

Atavist stories are available through Amazon's new Kindle Singles, through the free app on the iPhone, iPad and Touch and on the Nook. Android is coming soon.
