Travelers contemplating a trip to Canada are virtually transported to the streets of Montreal and other cities from within an online ad, in this campaign from the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC).
The ads use Google Maps and Street View, so that travelers can not only locate a destination on a map, but also explore things to see and do at each location. CTC's agency, DDB Canada, contacted Google with the idea of making Google Maps and Street View work directly within an online ad.
Each online execution ends by directing travelers to the Keep Exploring campaign site, where they can further explore what each destination has to offer. The campaign is running in the UK, Germany and France.
