The Sydney Story Factory, a writing center for young people, has opened in Sydney's Redfern neighborhood -- and it's hidden behind an extraterrestrial shopfront. Creative/Artists Collective The Glue Society has unveiled a Martian Embassy and Gift Shop, designed to inspire those who enter the center, at the storefront. Created in partnership with production company Will O'Rourke and architects from LAVA, the space is designed as a mix between a whale, rocket and a time/space tunnel, with oscillating rib-like structures and sound and light projections. There are also products available in the shop -- proceeds go to the writing center -- which include Crop Circle Starter Kits, a My First Abduction Toy, and an Invasion Sunscreen. "It's the stuff great stories are made of -- think of Moby Dick, H. G. Wells' Time Machine and 2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick," said Chris Bosse, Asia Pacific director of LAVA.
