The Guardian devoted its entire front cover this morning to David Bowie with a stunning black and white image of the singer, simply titled "David Bowie: 1947 - 2016." The words "the guardian" are in pale blue and white, perhaps a reference to the color palette (and Bowie's make-up) in the video for "Life on Mars."

The paper devotes a 12-page supplement to Bowie inside, with articles including interviews with a host of stars about their favorite Bowie songs.

According to the Guardian, the portrait was issued by the National Portrait Gallery and distributed via the Press Association.
