U.K. newspaper The Guardian has added ebooks to its offerings with the launch of Guardian Shorts, which promises to provide in-depth coverage on topics in which the publisher has demonstrated expertise.
The first ebook in the series is about how the newspaper broke the story on the News of the World phone hacking scandal. Ebooks will be released according to topic and when timely, several times a month. They'll cost between 1.99 and 3.99 pounds and some will be free.
The Guardian isn't the first publisher to venture into the booming ebook market -- Vanity Fair recently released a short about Rupert Murdoch -- but it's definitely a good move, considering the revenue potenial for the struggling publishing market.
