Baffled by the Scottish Independence Referendum? This Smart, Witty Guardian Animation Is Here to Save the Day

Everything You Need to Know as Scotland Goes to the Polls

Editor's Pick

As Scotland heads to the polls today to vote on independence, The Guardian has released this witty, informative animated film to explain to non-Brits exactly what the fuss is about. The great thing about it is that those who already understand the issues will enjoy it as much as those who don't. As well as answering questions such as "Where Is Scotland?" and "What is the West Lothian question?", it illustrates matters such as Scottish dietary idiosyncrasies and which celebrities back the "yes" and "no" campaigns. There's even a surreal musical interlude. It was created by The Guardian's in-house team.
