The Image Language: Write with Images

Translate words with Google images.

Published on

Editor's Pick

The brainchild of Argentinian creative Santiago Luna Lupo and Brazilian art director Mihail Aleksandrov, Write With Images is an interactive visual experiment that takes words and 'translates' them with the first Google image that comes up when you type the word in. The video shown here is a performance by Adele of Someone Like You, 'translated' by the site.

The site, which is still in beta, was developed by Argentinian freelance programmer Nicolas Morell, using PHP, MySql and jQuery scripts. The creatives, Lupo and Aleksandrov worked together at La Comunidad, Miami, before Lupo moved to New York to join the Vidal Partnership; they now collaborate via Skype.
